WHO is this camp for?

Our OG Summer Literacy Camp is designed for students in grades 1-6 who need explicit, structured literacy instruction to strengthen their reading and spelling skills. Whether your child is an emerging reader, struggling with decoding, or simply needs additional support to build fluency and comprehension, this camp provides a science-backed, multisensory approach to reading instruction.

What is the OG Summer Literacy Camp?

This 6-week structured literacy program uses the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach, a research-based method proven to help students improve their reading and spelling. Sessions focus on the five key components of literacy:

🔠 Phonemic Awareness – Learning to recognize and manipulate sounds in words.

🔡 Phonics – Understanding letter-sound relationships for decoding and spelling.

📖 Fluency – Developing smooth, confident, and expressive reading.

🧠 Vocabulary – Expanding word knowledge for better comprehension.

📚 Comprehension – Strengthening understanding and critical thinking while reading.

Each session includes explicit, systematic instruction and multisensory activities to engage students in hands-on learning, reinforcing literacy skills in a structured way. Taught by a Ceri- Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist.

Boost Your Child’s Reading Skills in a Fun & Engaging Way! Students will explore captivating stories, engage in fun activities, and develop key reading strategies in a supportive small group setting, all while making new friends!

Who: Students entering grades 2-6

What: A 6-week, research-based reading comprehension book club where students will learn key strategies such as:

✔️ Using graphic organizers
✔️ Answering comprehension questions
✔️ Activating prior knowledge
✔️ Making inferences
✔️ Summarizing stories
✔️ And more!

Taught by a K-12 licensed intervention specialist with a Master’s in Teaching Special Education and Orton Gillingham training.

Helping Kids Build and Strengthen Friendships
Led by a Licensed K-12 Professional School Counselor, Lasting Friendships helps kids build essential social skills through interactive activities, discussions, and hands-on experiences. Campers will develop communication, active listening, and conflict resolution skills in a supportive environment, gaining confidence and forming lasting friendships. Join us for a summer of fun and connection!

Who: Students entering 5th – 8th grade

What: A fun and interactive 5-day summer camp focused on helping kids develop essential friendship skills, including:

Through engaging activities, campers will strengthen time management, organization, and goal-setting while preparing their mindset and emotions for success. Join us for a fun, supportive experience that sets the stage for a great year ahead!

Who: Students entering 6th – 10th grade

What: A 4-day camp designed to help students get organized, set goals, and start the school year with confidence.
